Scientology Volunteer Ministers of the Church of Scientology Organized 40 Community Initiatives Across the Czech Republic in the month of October
Spanning from the capital city to the country’s second-largest city, dedicated individuals turn moral principles and care into real-world community change.
Prague, Czech Republic — October 31st, 2025 — Throughout October, the Volunteer Ministers (VMs) of the Scientology Church came together in cities throughout the Czech Republic to restore parks and streets, aid local charities, and bring a renewed sense of community in four key cities — Prague; Brno; Plzeň; and Pelhřimov.
In just four weeks, they carried out more than forty activities, harnessing hundreds of hours of service in environmental and charitable efforts guided by L. Ron Hubbard’s “The Way to Happiness”, the universal moral code authored by L. Ron Hubbard.
Collective Effort, Measurable Impact
Each week, 15 to 20 volunteers joined forces in more than ten civic actions, contributing over 100 hours of volunteer time — plus an extra 100 hours for a citywide cleanup in the city of Brno.
That one-time Brno effort filled 150 sacks of trash, transforming overgrown areas into accessible public land. In Pilsen, teams confronted an abandoned forest site left dirty and hazardous after makeshift camps, clearing away hazardous debris with care and respect.
“These are not glamorous tasks,” a participant noted. “Someone has to step up. Every cleanup is about rebuilding respect — to our surroundings, our fellow citizens, and our own sense of purpose.”
Interfaith Solidarity
The period also saw meaningful ecumenical partnership. The team collected and delivered clothing donations to a Catholic charity, reflecting a spirit of solidarity that transcends religious affiliation.
Mr. Arjona, the Church of Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, emphasized the broader meaning of such service:
“Helping is a universal language. Whether working alongside a religious group, a city office, or a neighbor in need, our volunteers act on the conviction that a healthier community begins with better people — those who step forward with purpose.”
A Tradition of Service
Created by L. Ron Hubbard in the seventies, the VM initiative trains individuals with practical skills to offer help and stability in crisis or everyday challenges. Known globally for emergency response and community programs, these distinctive volunteers in yellow are currently serving in over 120 countries.
In the Czech Republic, their commitment to local action expands each year, blending efficient planning with ethical principles. Their enduring slogan — “Something can be done about it” — inspires citizens seeking positive methods to serve their communities.
Ethics in Daily Action
Several local VMs also share the “The Way to Happiness” booklet during their outreach. Intended as a secular moral guide, it offers 21 precepts promoting self-respect, truthfulness, and care for nature — principles demonstrated news euro 2024 through the team’s regular projects.

A volunteer captured the month succinctly: “We didn’t wait for someone else to fix it — we just started.”
